She is More to Be Pitied Than Censured

about

Wife Irma Slocum says "The quartet was called Men About Town. The National contest was held in Hillsboro, Oregon. But they sang many places. Bill had a fresh cold that day of the contest, and he didn't know whether he would lose his voice completely or not. Thankfully it did come thru ok. That's the risky part of depending on the singing voice. Oh, the members' names: Bob Zimmerman, lst tenor, Bill Slocum 2nd tenor, Bob Eichhorn, baritone, and Chuck Hayden, bass. They came home with pockets full of silver dollars!"
